  GYM SCAM ALERT. DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM. There are gyms that thrive by offering quality equipment and services. And, unfortunately, there are gyms that stay in business by tricking and defrauding their customers. Please feel free to read about my experience below and decide for yourself if you really want to risk Fitnessland. I joined Fitnessland in October 2014 and signed up for a year-long contract. In December 2014, I found another gym much better suited to my needs and stopped training at Fitnessland. I honored my contract and did not try to break it. In July 2015, I personally went to Fitnessland to cancel my membership in advance of the end of the contract. I talked with the Fitnessland agent who signed me up in October 2014. When I arrived at Fitnessland, I noted that my entry code no longer worked. I was no longer granted access to the building. The agent searched for my name in the Fitnessland customer database. My name was not in the database. The agent said that he could not cancel my membership if I were not a member. I left and considered the contract cancelled. Fitnessland then “auto-renewed” my contract for another year. I went to Fitnessland to discuss this error, assuming it would be worked out agreeably. Another agent, a very unfit-looking guy in a filthy sweat suit, started screaming at me to leave. It seemed to be well rehearsed, as if he had such conversations every day.
